Q.        What effects does Centron Gas Fuel Saver have on over-run (dieseling)?

A.        CENTRON Gas Saver helps to reduce pinging and run‑on (or dieseling) by limiting carbon build-up in the combustion chamber and improving the gas burn.  It actually changes the burn ratio of the gas.

Q.        Will Centron Gas Fuel Saver cause fuel filters to clog?

A.        It may.  If your mileage begins to drop, we recommend that you change your fuel filter.  The cleaning agent in the product eliminates dirt and carbon buildup from your fuel system, which may accumulate in your filter.  Your mileage will increase after your first fuel filter change.

Q.        Does Centron Gas Fuel Saver affect exhaust emissions?

A.        Yes.  Tests on infra‑red exhaust analysis equipment indicate a drop in the hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions up to as much as 90 percent.  This proves that Centron Gas Fuel Saver improves combustion dramatically, thus keeping our air cleaner.

Q.        What do the Centron Gas Fuel Saver cleaners do?

A.        The detergent in CENTRON Gas Saver cleans gums and varnishes off the gas pump diaphragm, carburetor, intake manifold injectors, injection systems, and spark plugs. It also cleans carbon deposits from vital engine parts and provides a top oil lubricant.

Q.        Why is top oil necessary?

A.        With the advent of unleaded gas and higher operating temperatures, the upper cylinder areas need lubrication more than ever before.  Centron contains top oil.

Q.        How does the Centron treatment water scavenger work?

A.        The water scavenger in Centron Gas Fuel Saver chemically emulsifies the water with the fuel in your fuel tank and fuel lines, allowing it to be removed through the normal combustion process.

Q.        Is Centron Gas Fuel Saver cover by product liability insurance?

A.        Yes.

Q.        Is Centron Gas Fuel Saver cost effective?

A.        Definitely!  When you consider that the product can keep your gas tank from rusting out, eliminate premature gas pump failure, removes moisture from gas system, eliminate unnecessary carburetor rebuilding, eliminate premature valve jobs, reduce oil contamination, give better combustion, extend the life of your catalytic converter, extend the life of your exhaust system and increase gas mileage – it is difficult to argue why you would not use CENTRON Gas Saver.

Q.        Will Centron Gas Fuel Saver keep my gasoline lines from freezing?

A.        Gasoline freezing is due to water droplets from the gas tank, which are pulled through the gas line towards the engine.  These water droplets sometimes settle in the low spots of a gas line.  In cold weather, this water freezes and blocks off the very small opening in gas line stopping the gas flow.  By using CENTRON Gas Saver, the water in the gas tank actually becomes emulsified in the gas.  Therefore, as it is traveling through the gas lines, it is not in a water droplet form, thus keeping the gas line from freezing.

General Questions

Q.        ECM, ECU, PCM, OBD1 AND OBD2?

A.        These acronyms  are commonly used within the Automotive Industry: ECM = Electrical Control Module, ECU = Electrical Control Unit, PCM = Primary Control Module, OBD1 = On Board Diagnostic (Early or 1st Version), OBD2 = On Board Diagnostic (Late or 2nd Version).

Q.        Do I need to reset ECM?

A.        Resetting the ECM will shorten the time required to see improved Mileage and Reduced Emissions.  If the ECM is not reset the computer requires a period of time to learn the Improved fuel burn and adjust the amount of fuel supplied to the injection system. The Vehicle’s ECM comes from the factory with a set of default parameters that it uses to operate the engine. After the engine has been driven for a while, the parameters “zero-in” on your normal driving habits and have a tendency to ignore new readings unless they fall outside the factory pre-set default parameters. You can reset the ECU in order to “wake up” the ECM and cause it to re- learn how to operate the vehicle under these Improved conditions.

Q.        How can I reset the ECM?

A.        On most vehicles equipped with ECM it is possible to reset the ECM by disconnecting the battery.  Disconnect the negative terminal first then the positive terminal.  Leave the cable disconnected for at least 15 minutes.  Reconnect the positive cable first, and then reconnect the negative cable.  Please check with your owner’s manual prior for any special procedures that you vehicle may require resetting the ECM.  You can also have your local repair shop or new car dealership reset the ECM.  If you elect not to reset the ECM the Improved Mileage and Reduced Emissions may take up to 2 or 3 tanks of treated fuel to see improvements.

Q.        What if my fuel economy goes down?

A.        A reduction in fuel economy during the first 2 or 3 tanks after adding Centon Fuel Additive is a positive sign that the Centon Fuel Additive is cleaning up the engine.  Centon Fuel Additive not only allows for a more complete fuel burn but also cleans and removes fuel robbing Carbon deposits.  An increase in fuel economy will soon follow.  If the ECM is not reset the ECM is receiving changed emission data, during these changes the ECM will send default values and run in a “Rich” mode causing the engine to burn more fuel.  After using Centon Fuel Additive the ECM will learn these new emission values and start to correct the “Rich” mode to a more economical (“Lean") burn.

Q.        Why does my engine have a rough idle after ECM reset?

A.        Once the ECM has been reset, the ECM must learn how to efficiently operate the engine.  During this new learning period (usually a day) the engine may appear to run “rough” this symptom will clear up by itself.  Also the idle configuration parameters in the ECM may not have reset itself properly.  After resetting the ECM, driving most vehicles will correct itself.  Sometimes a rough idle condition will occur as the treated fuel cleans the back of the throttle body.  This condition will correct itself within a day or two. If the rough idle continues reset the ECM using the idle reset configuration in the OBD1 or OBD2 (The ECM reset with the OBD1 or OBD2 can be done at your local repair shop or at new car dealership).

Q.        What if my Check engine light comes on?

A.        If prior to the Centon Fuel Additive treatment no trouble codes were found and the check engine light intermittently appears in most cases there is nothing to worry about.  If prior to using Centon Fuel Additive trouble codes were found but ignored and wiped out by the ECM reset then the ECM has found the original problem again.  Repair maybe required.  Documented cases has shown that Centron Fuel Additive will clear codes related to emission sensors needing to be replaced, i.e. Oxygen sensors, EGR, etc... Most sensors fail from Carbon deposits and scale.  Most emission sensors will last longer do to the reduced emission and reduction of Carbon. With regular use Centron Fuel Additive scale and Carbon deposits on these sensors will be clean and extend the usable life.

Q.        What happens to my manufacturers warranty after the use of Centon Fuel Additive?

A.        Your manufacturers warranty will not be voided with the proper dosage of Centon Fuel Additive.  The “Magnuson Moss Warranty Act” forbids manufacturers from Voiding Manufacturers Warranty by adding a fuel additive not proven to be the cause of any damage! Centon Fuel Additive is a petroleum base product with no harmful chemicals and cannot cause any damage to you engine or fuel system! Centon Fuel Additive contains NO alcohol, methanol or isopropyl alcohol.  Centon Fuel Additive is covered by Product Liability Insurance (7 Years without a claim!). Centon Fuel Additive is approved by Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corp., DaimlerChrysler, Cummins, Volvo, Mack, Caterpillar, others.

Q.        Why is it important to know the miles per gallon (MPG) before the install?

A.        It provides a baseline or reference through which we can measure the performance of Centon Fuel Additive. In taking baseline MPG note any abnormal driving conditions including loads, traffic jams, type of road, idle times, rain, snow, low tire air pressure, dirty air filter, etc. In comparing improved MPG also note any differences as noted above. All of these will affect the MPG.

Q.        My miles per gallon (MPG) only showed a slight improvement!

A.        Some vehicles need 2 to 3 full tanks of fuel treated with Centon Fuel Additive to see improvements.  Also note any abnormal driving conditions as stated above.  Allow time for the ECM to recalibrate to the Improved Fuel Burn.
